WebSite Story, an original adaptation of West Side Story, based on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, and performed by high school students, won various awards this season. The TeAtreVes group won “Best Play in a Foreign Language” (in English) and “Best Direction” awards at the Madrid Regional Government’s 25th School Theater Competition. They also won the Madrid Coca-Cola Foundation Buero Awards. Congratulations to its director, Sara Alcalá, to its English coach Trisha Ballsrud, and to all the boys and girls from Colegio San Alfonso de Madrid, who have worked hard to win these awards. This Embassy along with the American Space Madrid have collaborated with them throughout the school year to develop the English version of the play. It has been a great opportunity for all, and congratulations for all those well-deserved awards.
