U.S. Embassy Explains Educational Exchange Programs

The U.S. Embassy’s Public Diplomacy section organized an event to explain educational exchange programs that fall under the J-1 visa category to thirty representatives of Spanish universities. In this meeting, attendees learned about the various programs and their application processes from the representatives of exchange agencies and an American sponsor. Additionally, the audience had the opportunity to hear about the wide variety of experiences of several former participants in Summer Work and Travel, Camp Counselor and Internship  programs.  Additionally, Vice Consul Krista Bustamante explained how the application process for this type of visa works.  The event was closed by the Embassy´s Chief of Mission, Benjamin Ziff, who emphasized the importance of increasing exchanges between our two countries, especially among youth.
