The consular section of the U.S. Embassy hosted directors and coordinators from Spanish and U.S. university programs in the Madrid area to celebrate International Education Week.
Spain is the third most popular destination in the world for study abroad participants from the United States, with more than 32,000 students per year choosing to study in Spain. The Embassy’s American Citizen Services section collaborates closely with study abroad programs to assist U.S. students in Spain, and used this occasion to thank the programs for cooperation and assistance.
The United States is also a popular choice for students from Spain, with more than 7,000 Spanish citizens studying in the United States each year. Together we celebrated the sharing of knowledge and culture through international study.
