The American Experience that Changed my Life

“The American experience that changed my life.” Indeed, this is how two Fulbright scholars describe their experience in the United States thanks to this scholarship. Under this title, we  have launched two videos featuring the architect Begoña de Abajo and the sculptor Francisco Leiro, both Fulbright grantees from different years.  Begoña, received a scholarship to study in Chicago in 2012.  The experience lived there helped her to open her own architecture studio.  Leiro traveled to New York City in the 1980’s, where he collaborated with the well-known Marlborough Art Gallery.

With these videos, the Embassy encourages all young graduates to apply for the Fulbright scholarship.  The call for the 2020-2021 academic year is now open. The deadline to apply for one of the 25 scholarships is April 11, 2019.  More information on the Fulbright program can be viewed at the following link:
