Consortium of Libraries of Barcelona (Biblioteques the Barcelona), Sant Andreu’s District and the Department of Public Diplomacy at the U.S. Embassy in Spain have renewed the memorandum of understanding that regulates the implementation of the American Space Barcelona at the Ignasi Iglésias – Can Fabra Library in Barcelona. The mission of the American Space Barcelona is to promote the cultural exchange between Barcelona and the United States, furthering dialogue, interaction and innovation. This initiative encourages informal learning and professional development through a variety of activities and cutting-edge technologies, and helps improve the knowledge of U.S. history, culture and values among young people. With over 700 Spaces in 169 countries worldwide, American Spaces provide welcoming environments where visitors can learn about the United States.
