Event:  The Spanish government likely will extend the current State of Alarm to April 26, continuing to severely restrict the movement of people and transportation within the country in an effort to control the spread of COVID-19.  Embassy Madrid and Consulate General Barcelona have canceled all appointments for non-emergency services through April 26.

Extremely limited commercial flight options continue to be available in Spain. U.S. citizens who wish to return to the United States should make commercial arrangements as soon as possible, unless you are prepared to remain abroad for an indefinite period. The U.S. government has no plans to arrange repatriation flights from Spain at this time.
