Fulbright Alumni and International Visitors Visit the Gloria Fuertes Exhibit–Centenary

Participants

The Gloria Fuertes Foundation invited the Embassy and a group of Exchange Alumni (participants in programs sponsored by the State Department, the Fulbright Program, and the International Visitors Leadership Program) to a tour guided by Paloma Porpetta, the President of the Gloria Fuertes Foundation and the curator of the Gloria Fuertes Exposition–Centenary. Gloria Fuertes, a poet and Spanish children’s author, received a Fulbright grant to teach classes at Bucknell University, Mary Baldwin University and Bryn Mawr University in the United States. She wrote 15 books of poetry and 34 children’s books. This year marks the 100th anniversary of her birth and the Embassy of the United States is joining in the celebrations to recognize her life and her work.
