March 29, 2022

On March 25th, Justen Thomas, the Embassy Public Diplomacy Officer for Education and Entrepreneurship, delivered remarks during an orientation dinner for one hundred of the total 200 grantees that have received a Fundacion Amancio Ortega grant to study high school and live in the United States for the 2022-2023 academic year. Approximately 10,000 students throughout Spain applied for the grant, which covers one hundred percent of the costs to complete a year of high school abroad.  Justen Thomas offered advice for what to expect in the year ahead and encouraged the students to take advantage of the extracurricular activities high schools in the United States offer and to be open-minded about cultural differences they might encounter. The students will be departing throughout August and early September to begin their year abroad.
