Full Radius Dance Showcases U.S. Dance and Promotes Disability Rights Among Diverse Audiences in Madrid and Valencia

Full Radius Dance (FRD), a leading physically-integrated dance company from Atlanta, Georgia opened the annual performing arts festival “Una mirada diferente,” organized by Centro Dramático Nacional, at Teatro Valle-Inclán on May 26, and gave a second performance on May 27 followed by Q&A with the audience. FRD was the first U.S. company participating in the festival since its first edition in 2013. FRD also gave three workshops in Madrid on May 24 and 25: for intellectually-disabled and non-disabled dancers, high school students, and dance students of Universidad Rey Juan Carlos “Alicia Alonso” University Dance Institute. FRD then travelled to Valencia, where they visited Fundación Secretariado Gitano and met with women taking part in the program “Empowering Roma Women” and with young men participating in the employment plan “Learning by Working,” and gave additional workshops at the Middle Dance Conservatory and Superior Dance Conservatory, and to members of Moments Art, on May 29 and 30.
