Oportunidad al talento

On June 24, the Tomillo Foundation hosted the closing ceremony of the “Oportunidad al Talento-Go! American English” program at La Nave Cultural Center in Madrid.  GoAmerican English is a program aimed at 14-16 years old high-achieving students from lower-income families.  It is currently part of the Oportunidad al Talento after school program, a three-year leadership program with a focus on the English language.  English classes are provided by an Fulbright English Teaching Assistant and not only improve the students’ English language skills but also increase their knowledge about U.S. society, culture, and values.

During the ceremony, the Embassy acting Counselor for Public Diplomacy, Adam Lenert, addressed the students, congratulating them on having successfully completed the program in these exceptional circumstances due to the pandemic and encouraging them to continue improving their English in order to have better academic and work opportunities.  The ceremony also featured the participation of representatives from AIPC Pandora, Tomillo Foundation, and the students’ parents.
