Demonstration Alert – September 28 to October 1, 2018

Location:  Madrid and Barcelona, Spain

Event:  Several demonstrations are expected to take place in Madrid and Barcelona from September 28 through October 1, 2018.  U.S. citizens should expect potential disruptions to traffic flows and public transportation.  Additional demonstrations may occur at other locations around Spain, including in Catalonia due to the Catalan political situation.   • Avoid the areas of the demonstrations
  • Exercise caution if in the vicinity of large gatherings or protests
  • Monitor local media for updates
  • Be aware of your surroundings
