Consular Agent Meets with U.S. Teaching Assistants in Canary Islands

Earlier this month, the regional government of the Canary Islands invited U.S. Consular Agent in Las Palmas Ana Maria Quintana to speak to a group of newly arrived U.S. citizens who will be working as teaching assistants in the region. The program, managed by the regional government, is designed to assist in bilingual education in Spain and covers all of the islands. Over 100 U.S. citizens are participating in this year’s program.

Consular Agent Quintana spoke to the participants about consular services, emphasizing the importance of enrolling in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP), as well as how the Agency can assist U.S. citizens.
