American Space Barcelona Expands Its Activities to New Libraries in Barcelona’s Sant Andreu District

On the eve of its second anniversary, American Space Barcelona has received over 50,000 visitors and organized about 400 activities.

American Space Barcelona (ASB) is excited to announce that it is expanding its activities and workshops to three new libraries located in the Sant Andreu District (Bon Pastor, Trinitat Vella-José Barbero and La Sagrera-Marina Clotet) through a “moveable” ASB initiative. This follows the great success ASB has enjoyed at its permanent location in the Ignasi Iglésias-Can Fabra library.

Since its launch in November 2016, over 50,000 people have visited ASB to take part in around 400 activities. The new so-called “Movable American Space Barcelona” initiative will increase the numbers of people who will be able to take advantage of the opportunities the ASB offers even further and is in part a response to the high level of interest in the ASB’s programs, including its workshops focused on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics). The first activity of the Movable ASB initiative will be a series of workshops on 3D design and Littlebits for students aged 7 to 12 years old. Through STEAM methodology, participants will learn basic electronic and engineering skills while developing their own designs.

In addition to the STEAM workshops, the Movable ASB will offer additional activities related to its core programming in areas such as English-language learning.
